GOODBYE TECHNOLOGY!

YES! YETH! YAPPERS! YESSUM! JA!

I AM DONE.

60 IS REACHED!!!

okay. after talking about technology a lot, I realise that if the blog taught me that the internet is awesome, and I get very very frustrated when I any kind of technology fails. Especially the internet. Yeth.

also, the title of my blog post is goodbye technology. but I honestly think that I would die if I did say goodbye to technology.

Prepaid machine

I went to the petrol station to help my mum fill up the tank and then she asked me to get some chocolates for my younger sister. So I had to go in the store and I saw this small machine, while I was lining up and it was a self service prepaid machine.

It's like, you use your ATM card and then you can buy prepaid from it and it seemed to me like a very very useful thing. And it was technologically savvy. That is a nice word, yea? savvy. It's useful also.

Manchester United just had 2 great chances. It is quite an exciting game. I kinda like United better than Chelsea, I guess.

Lying Plaster

Problems

I am having problems uploading my video onto youtube. The first one was fine to upload. It didnt take long. But there's this thing about this video that it won't upload. I tried it on 2 computers. Both don't work. I am not feeling happy now.

It is quite late. 3 am, in fact. I am sehr sehr tired.

Oh, video. Why won't you work?

Multi Tasking

I am watching the champions league final.

I am writing my report.

I am uploading my video.

I am blogging.

That is too much really.

I'm not sure if this counts as one post.

I sure hope so.

My ear kinda hurts also.

IM-ing

Wonderland, I wish to go there

Did you write the best book in the world? No. Because you're not Lewis Carroll.

Finals

Finals and just more finals.

More space please.

So anyways, I was looking through the Guardian and I was browsing and I saw this title "My hard drive will never be big enough" and honestly you have no idea how true is that for me. So, I don't have a laptop right, I have a computer. like a normal computer. and it's in my room and I have about 6 hard disk drives. I'm not sure if that's even possible but, I do. And every time my dad adds a new hard drive, I'm like "yea sure. that's a lot of space" but it isn't. really. it's never a lot. its never even enough because I keep downloading songs and pictures and movies and tv shows and softwares and aaaaa. Honestly, its never enough.

Like even when I got my ipod, I was like 4gb. wow! that's more than enough.

its' not.

it's not even enough. let alone more than enough.

so, i guess its the same with my compulsion of black ball pens and paper. I have this thing with me that every where I go, I have a black ball pen and a notebook with me. And, like if I have 2 pens in my pencil case, I will feel that that's not enough(and two black ball pens are never enough) so I get 2 more and yet, I still don't feel safe. its only when i have about 5 or six ball pens in my bag that gives i have a sense of security to actually go to school. yappers.

Gamers may win nobel prize

I read from an article on the internet that the winners of a certain game may actually win the nobel prize because some scientists came out with this game that they believe the players may actually find a way to cure some disease and if they win the game, they may actually find the cure and then they will be awarded the nobel prize so that's quite interesting i guess.

Design by humans.

I went to this website called design by humans and its this website where normal people (humans) get to submit their designs which then get printed and then get sold online. So, you can go to the website and browse the designs and order them online or you can go there and submit their designs.

And they're all t-shirts. The same cut and everything its just the print that is different and really honestly, all the prints are just SO SO lovely and amazing. Every time I open their homepage, I just fall out of my chair and my heart really does stop beating for a moment just honestly, their designs are just so so lovely. I'm just so into such lovely nonsensical works of art.

And there's really great prints like there's one with a fly riding a bicycle. I mean like who thinks of such things?! and there's one where a sushi guy is cutting up a man and the man is like sushi and stuff. I just can't believe there are such creative people in this world. Really. Now i know why its such a wonderful world.

And like the concept of the website is cool because anyone can upload their prints on the website through the Internet and they can actually make money out of it and its really successful and like there are artists and buyers from like all around the world and they always have like shirts of the week and shirts of the month and honestly, if you go there, I swear, you may die. So, please be careful. Fer seriously.

Erm, can you please be excited?

I was on The Guardian looking at articles and I found this article about Juno's screenwriter Diablo Cody talking about her new iPhone and technology and honestly, Juno is one of the best movies that I have ever watched in my entire life and it is just so amazing like the script is just so good and so eccentric even. I can never get enough of it. The last time I watched it was when it came out so that was a long time ago but yesterday, in world issues, Mr.Smajda who was next door teaching physics played Juno and since our classes are connected by revolving doors, there was quite a decent gap for me to peek into his class and I did that and listened to the characters talk and honestly, the script is really good.

Anyways, Diablo Cody, who is awesome, was talking about an iPhone and my best friend just got an iPhone. like seriously. A real life iPhone that works. That you can put in your hand and search the web and listen to music and text and everything in the world really. And we were both very very excited and like you know how if you have incoming messages, your inbox would be like a list of the received messages but in the iPhone, it is a whole conversation of like speech bubbles and like one text message is one speech bubble and honestly, that was just the coolest thing ever. And there's like a built in iPod of about four million GBs and that was just so not fair.

And it doesn't really make sense even because she used to have an iPod mini and I had an iPod nano 2nd generation so my iPod trumped her iPod but now she has an iPhone. AAAAA. just what happened to the hierarchical order of normal life? She just jumped over me in 2 seconds to the top of the world. oh goodness.

But its' fine because her joy is my joy and we are both very excited that she has an iPhone and we are determined to be the best iPhone users in the entire world. Yappers.

I held that thing in my hand. But that is not my hand. But i really did held that awesometastic piece of wonderful technology in my hand.

Thanks for the Muscle Memories

So I went to The Guardian and there was this article about muscle memory and how one uses like keyboard shortcuts and with the introduction of the new windows vista where the keyboard shortcuts are different, it can be extremely frustrating for a user who developed some kind of a relationship with the software as the user learns from the software and that relationship grows and the user becomes even more comfortable with the software and when suddenly a new software comes up and there are different shortcuts for things and then that relationship is now destroyed as the user is forced to abandon old ways and learn news ones, no matter how hard it is to do so. But that's muscle memory, I guess. It's great like to actually know where the keys are on the keyboard so you don't have to look to type but just image if all the keyboards changed. and all the keys changed places. it would still be very hard to change our old habits and muscle memory.

Power Shortage

A few nights ago, I was in my room, on my computer watching The Office, and I was having a very good time. then all of a sudden, all the lights went out and my computer turned off and it was honestly so dark. It was like being swallowed into a deep sea of inky blackness. And that was not a nice feeling at all. Nopes. So I got really scared and I called out for my mother but she was downstaris and then I got really scared. There was a blackout.

Anyways, after that horrible 7 minutes of stumbling and hitting everything near to me, because I couldn't see, my eyes got used to the dark and then I wondered what should I do. And then I realised that I couldn't watch tv. I couldn't go to my computer, my ipod didnt have any battery so I couldn't listen to my music, my phone wasn't charged so I couldn't text or call anyone else (and in case you're wondering why I just couldn't talk to my mother is because my mother and my elder sister were in a serious conversation of nonsensical things which do not interest me) so I lay down on my bed and tried to go to sleep but it was too hot. and for a moment, I felt like the world had stopped and I think that just shows how much we depend on that nonsensical thing you call technology. I call it technology also. yeth.

My Choo Choo Adventure

Yes. I have.

I have sat on a train.

It was quite something.

Yestermorning, me and three of my amigos wanted to go to KLCC because there was a ZARA sale at a hotel near there or something, and we decided to take the train. well, they decided to take a train, I just went with the flow and all of them have sat on trains before and I haven't sat on a train ever in my whole life so I felt a bit scared but I was in good hands. yappers.

So, the whole experienced was quite technological filled like you buy the tickets from the machine and then you have to put the ticket in the slot or whatever and you have to remember to take the ticket out and then you go in the train and find a seat. So we did and there were quite few people there actually so we all got seats next to each other and then after 2 seconds I realised that there wasn't any conductor in the train and asked them where the conductor was and they said that there's no conductor.

and i went crazy.

WHAT IS THIS!!??! HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE A CONDUCTOR ON A TRAIN?? who is going to punch the tickets? who's going to wish you good morning? who's going to announce the next stop? who's going to call the doctor if someone goes into labour?? who are you going to call when there's something wrong?? what about emergencies?? what if a fight breaks out? who's going to solve all of that problems?? who's going to shout "all aboard"?? who's going to blow the choo choo?? who's going to shut the doors? who do you ask if you have questions or queries?? who's going to solve all the train conundrums?? who, who, WHO?!

but then there were machines. the machines were responsible for the tickets and then the machine announced the next stop and the machine shouted all aboard (it was more like a bell or something) but I felt quite unsafe with no figure of authority on board. really. I honestly could not believe there was no conductor on the train.

so, the rest of the journey was kinda weird. the train was quite unsteady at times and the speed wasn't like consistent and there were really loud weird sounds from the track at times and they really freaked me out and I just didnt feel at all comfortable with this mode of transportation.

and another deal was that the doors closed kinda fast and I wondered if it was possible for people to get stuck, since they were automatic doors. That was on my mind quite a lot during the journey and if they did get stuck, would the train still move? who would stop the train? is there an emergency button even, now to think of it?

so I was thinking, we are trusting our lives to these machines who tell us our next stop, who takes us to our next destination and everything is computerised and really, is it wise? sure, the convenience that technology brings is amazing but really, is it wise? i mean, our lives? is it really? is it?! computers?! is it wise at all?! is it?IS IT?!

JUST HIRE A GOD DAMN CONDUCTOR!!

i guess, its public transport so it was environmentally friendly so i helped the environment that day. yes, it's worth an HONORABLE MENTION. thank you. yessum.
