GOODBYE TECHNOLOGY!

YES! YETH! YAPPERS! YESSUM! JA!

I AM DONE.

60 IS REACHED!!!

okay. after talking about technology a lot, I realise that if the blog taught me that the internet is awesome, and I get very very frustrated when I any kind of technology fails. Especially the internet. Yeth.

also, the title of my blog post is goodbye technology. but I honestly think that I would die if I did say goodbye to technology.

Prepaid machine

I went to the petrol station to help my mum fill up the tank and then she asked me to get some chocolates for my younger sister. So I had to go in the store and I saw this small machine, while I was lining up and it was a self service prepaid machine.

It's like, you use your ATM card and then you can buy prepaid from it and it seemed to me like a very very useful thing. And it was technologically savvy. That is a nice word, yea? savvy. It's useful also.

Manchester United just had 2 great chances. It is quite an exciting game. I kinda like United better than Chelsea, I guess.

Lying Plaster

Problems

I am having problems uploading my video onto youtube. The first one was fine to upload. It didnt take long. But there's this thing about this video that it won't upload. I tried it on 2 computers. Both don't work. I am not feeling happy now.

It is quite late. 3 am, in fact. I am sehr sehr tired.

Oh, video. Why won't you work?

Multi Tasking

I am watching the champions league final.

I am writing my report.

I am uploading my video.

I am blogging.

That is too much really.

I'm not sure if this counts as one post.

I sure hope so.

My ear kinda hurts also.

IM-ing

Wonderland, I wish to go there

Did you write the best book in the world? No. Because you're not Lewis Carroll.

Finals

Finals and just more finals.

More space please.

So anyways, I was looking through the Guardian and I was browsing and I saw this title "My hard drive will never be big enough" and honestly you have no idea how true is that for me. So, I don't have a laptop right, I have a computer. like a normal computer. and it's in my room and I have about 6 hard disk drives. I'm not sure if that's even possible but, I do. And every time my dad adds a new hard drive, I'm like "yea sure. that's a lot of space" but it isn't. really. it's never a lot. its never even enough because I keep downloading songs and pictures and movies and tv shows and softwares and aaaaa. Honestly, its never enough.

Like even when I got my ipod, I was like 4gb. wow! that's more than enough.

its' not.

it's not even enough. let alone more than enough.

so, i guess its the same with my compulsion of black ball pens and paper. I have this thing with me that every where I go, I have a black ball pen and a notebook with me. And, like if I have 2 pens in my pencil case, I will feel that that's not enough(and two black ball pens are never enough) so I get 2 more and yet, I still don't feel safe. its only when i have about 5 or six ball pens in my bag that gives i have a sense of security to actually go to school. yappers.

Gamers may win nobel prize

I read from an article on the internet that the winners of a certain game may actually win the nobel prize because some scientists came out with this game that they believe the players may actually find a way to cure some disease and if they win the game, they may actually find the cure and then they will be awarded the nobel prize so that's quite interesting i guess.

click here to find out more.

Design by humans.

I went to this website called design by humans and its this website where normal people (humans) get to submit their designs which then get printed and then get sold online. So, you can go to the website and browse the designs and order them online or you can go there and submit their designs.

And they're all t-shirts. The same cut and everything its just the print that is different and really honestly, all the prints are just SO SO lovely and amazing. Every time I open their homepage, I just fall out of my chair and my heart really does stop beating for a moment just honestly, their designs are just so so lovely. I'm just so into such lovely nonsensical works of art.

And there's really great prints like there's one with a fly riding a bicycle. I mean like who thinks of such things?! and there's one where a sushi guy is cutting up a man and the man is like sushi and stuff. I just can't believe there are such creative people in this world. Really. Now i know why its such a wonderful world.

And like the concept of the website is cool because anyone can upload their prints on the website through the Internet and they can actually make money out of it and its really successful and like there are artists and buyers from like all around the world and they always have like shirts of the week and shirts of the month and honestly, if you go there, I swear, you may die. So, please be careful. Fer seriously.

Erm, can you please be excited?

I was on The Guardian looking at articles and I found this article about Juno's screenwriter Diablo Cody talking about her new iPhone and technology and honestly, Juno is one of the best movies that I have ever watched in my entire life and it is just so amazing like the script is just so good and so eccentric even. I can never get enough of it. The last time I watched it was when it came out so that was a long time ago but yesterday, in world issues, Mr.Smajda who was next door teaching physics played Juno and since our classes are connected by revolving doors, there was quite a decent gap for me to peek into his class and I did that and listened to the characters talk and honestly, the script is really good.

Anyways, Diablo Cody, who is awesome, was talking about an iPhone and my best friend just got an iPhone. like seriously. A real life iPhone that works. That you can put in your hand and search the web and listen to music and text and everything in the world really. And we were both very very excited and like you know how if you have incoming messages, your inbox would be like a list of the received messages but in the iPhone, it is a whole conversation of like speech bubbles and like one text message is one speech bubble and honestly, that was just the coolest thing ever. And there's like a built in iPod of about four million GBs and that was just so not fair.

And it doesn't really make sense even because she used to have an iPod mini and I had an iPod nano 2nd generation so my iPod trumped her iPod but now she has an iPhone. AAAAA. just what happened to the hierarchical order of normal life? She just jumped over me in 2 seconds to the top of the world. oh goodness.

But its' fine because her joy is my joy and we are both very excited that she has an iPhone and we are determined to be the best iPhone users in the entire world. Yappers.

I held that thing in my hand. But that is not my hand. But i really did held that awesometastic piece of wonderful technology in my hand.

Thanks for the Muscle Memories

So I went to The Guardian and there was this article about muscle memory and how one uses like keyboard shortcuts and with the introduction of the new windows vista where the keyboard shortcuts are different, it can be extremely frustrating for a user who developed some kind of a relationship with the software as the user learns from the software and that relationship grows and the user becomes even more comfortable with the software and when suddenly a new software comes up and there are different shortcuts for things and then that relationship is now destroyed as the user is forced to abandon old ways and learn news ones, no matter how hard it is to do so. But that's muscle memory, I guess. It's great like to actually know where the keys are on the keyboard so you don't have to look to type but just image if all the keyboards changed. and all the keys changed places. it would still be very hard to change our old habits and muscle memory.

Power Shortage

A few nights ago, I was in my room, on my computer watching The Office, and I was having a very good time. then all of a sudden, all the lights went out and my computer turned off and it was honestly so dark. It was like being swallowed into a deep sea of inky blackness. And that was not a nice feeling at all. Nopes. So I got really scared and I called out for my mother but she was downstaris and then I got really scared. There was a blackout.

Anyways, after that horrible 7 minutes of stumbling and hitting everything near to me, because I couldn't see, my eyes got used to the dark and then I wondered what should I do. And then I realised that I couldn't watch tv. I couldn't go to my computer, my ipod didnt have any battery so I couldn't listen to my music, my phone wasn't charged so I couldn't text or call anyone else (and in case you're wondering why I just couldn't talk to my mother is because my mother and my elder sister were in a serious conversation of nonsensical things which do not interest me) so I lay down on my bed and tried to go to sleep but it was too hot. and for a moment, I felt like the world had stopped and I think that just shows how much we depend on that nonsensical thing you call technology. I call it technology also. yeth.

My Choo Choo Adventure

Yes. I have.

I have sat on a train.

It was quite something.

Yestermorning, me and three of my amigos wanted to go to KLCC because there was a ZARA sale at a hotel near there or something, and we decided to take the train. well, they decided to take a train, I just went with the flow and all of them have sat on trains before and I haven't sat on a train ever in my whole life so I felt a bit scared but I was in good hands. yappers.

So, the whole experienced was quite technological filled like you buy the tickets from the machine and then you have to put the ticket in the slot or whatever and you have to remember to take the ticket out and then you go in the train and find a seat. So we did and there were quite few people there actually so we all got seats next to each other and then after 2 seconds I realised that there wasn't any conductor in the train and asked them where the conductor was and they said that there's no conductor.

and i went crazy.

WHAT IS THIS!!??! HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE A CONDUCTOR ON A TRAIN?? who is going to punch the tickets? who's going to wish you good morning? who's going to announce the next stop? who's going to call the doctor if someone goes into labour?? who are you going to call when there's something wrong?? what about emergencies?? what if a fight breaks out? who's going to solve all of that problems?? who's going to shout "all aboard"?? who's going to blow the choo choo?? who's going to shut the doors? who do you ask if you have questions or queries?? who's going to solve all the train conundrums?? who, who, WHO?!

but then there were machines. the machines were responsible for the tickets and then the machine announced the next stop and the machine shouted all aboard (it was more like a bell or something) but I felt quite unsafe with no figure of authority on board. really. I honestly could not believe there was no conductor on the train.

so, the rest of the journey was kinda weird. the train was quite unsteady at times and the speed wasn't like consistent and there were really loud weird sounds from the track at times and they really freaked me out and I just didnt feel at all comfortable with this mode of transportation.

and another deal was that the doors closed kinda fast and I wondered if it was possible for people to get stuck, since they were automatic doors. That was on my mind quite a lot during the journey and if they did get stuck, would the train still move? who would stop the train? is there an emergency button even, now to think of it?

so I was thinking, we are trusting our lives to these machines who tell us our next stop, who takes us to our next destination and everything is computerised and really, is it wise? sure, the convenience that technology brings is amazing but really, is it wise? i mean, our lives? is it really? is it?! computers?! is it wise at all?! is it?IS IT?!

JUST HIRE A GOD DAMN CONDUCTOR!!

i guess, its public transport so it was environmentally friendly so i helped the environment that day. yes, it's worth an HONORABLE MENTION. thank you. yessum.

We Are Scientists, really. you amaze me.

So, I was just looking through The Guardian and I was looking for interesting technology to write about for this blog and so I was browsing then I saw this article called "We Are Scientists will see you now" where We Are Scientists gave advice to like members of other bands and honestly, I have never read anything SO funny ever before. Their advice was the most ridiculous thing I have ever listened to. such nonsensical strings of words and I laughed so much and I felt that it would be too selfish to keep it to myself. And also, like I don't understand how they can be so talented in the humourific area of funnies when they make such great music and I really have been listening to their music for so long but maybe that's why that makes them eligible to actually give advice to indie rock stars. And I was so excited to read the article because there were so many advice seekers from awesometastic bands that I listen to, so here is just a typical example of what an advice session with We Are Scientists will sound like

Keith, Chris ... recently I have been getting kicked out of shops for no particular reason. I walk in, there's a chance of a purchase, yet when I show interest, I'm removed from the premises! Maybe it's my appearance that is the problem, maybe I've got some kind of "risk-to-retail" image! Is there anything at all that I can do to prevent rejection in the future?
Matt Helders Arctic Monkeys

Yes, Matt, there is. You should wear cash on a necklace. Thread a necklace with pounds 50 notes and wear that thing - flaunt it. They'll think twice before they throw you out if you're wearing what initially looks like an exaggerated ruffle collar but turns out to be three grand. Maybe throw some fivers on there too - in case you're in a Boots or a deli - the prospect of making change for a pounds 50 note can really daunt a low-price retailer.

Dear Mr Scientist. I am currently trying to coordinate my wardrobe in colours and have realised that black has many shades. How would you go about arranging this? And would you use shade coordinated boxes to store? Please help as I'm getting really distressed!
Coffin Joe, The Horrors

Black does indeed have many shades, Joe. You have your bat black, jet black, ink black, midnight black, panther black, pupil black, super black, dark black, and your clothing black. You'll find that most of your black clothes fit into the last category, "clothing black". Arrange them chronologically. Avoid boxes like the plague. Boxes are a recipe for wrinkles. If you like your clothes even a little bit, store your clothes on mannequins ... cedar mannequins.

HAHAHAHAHAH. Honestly I love them so. I still can't believe that they are capable of making me laugh so. So I went to their website where they have this advice column where they give advice to seeking fans by responding with helpful and thoughtful words.

and here are some of the examples of the questions and answers

query: im going to see you fine gentlemen on april 10th and i was just wondering if theres anything i should do in order to get the most out of my we are scientists experience??

A few things that can’t hurt:

- Melt your mind beforehand: Come to the show your mind already molten, your intentions shattered, your inclinations and desires bone-broken and reduced to mush.
- Eat a good meal that evening: The wrong way to watch We Are Scientists — the very exact wrong way — is tummy a’rumble.
- Bring your own hair: We don’t provide hair.
- Above all come to the show with an open mind and a sincere desire to have a great time because we are going to bring the rock and make you feel great about yourself and your friends and parents and life and the fact that your dog got lured by the neighborhood perv into a thresher where he got flung — thousands of strands of him, like 1500 pieces of wet uncooked bacon — all over the driveway! Which you later had to clean up cuz your parents were on vacay.

query: What is the difference between a muffin and a cupcake?

A muffin has a fish center. A cupcake has icing on top, and has a center of pork or boar. Muffins originated in France and are still considered a top-shelf delicacy in that country; meanwhile, Italians, who invented cupcakes, regard them as acceptable nourishment only for prisoners and cattle.

so, since I found out about their website through the Internet, I just feel like we should have a moment of silence to celebrate the greatness of the Internet. HALLELUJAH.

thank you. and no, that was not too long.

Always On My Mind

Time for a music video update.
For our music video, we have finally chosen a song and its "Always On My Mind" by Phantom Planet and it took us a whole hour and a half just to choose the song. but we finally chose it.

We actually wanted to choose "Open Your Eyes" by Snow Patrol and it's such a nice sad song and we thought it would be a really touching video but we really wanted a hospital scene where there would be a girl in a coma and there was a boy like crying and everything but we couldn't really get a hospital room so we decided to scrap that idea and then we had to choose another song and we disagreed a lot but in the end we managed to pick a song by writing all the possible songs on pieces of paper and then picking one randomly.

So we got "Always on Your Mind" and we've started shooting some scenes already but I think we didnt really think about it properly before we started shooting so we are going to have to shoot those scenes again. So we're going to do it after school today then we are going to edit the video tomorrow before class then we have to submit our video during class. So we are, as always, press for time. And hopefully we can actually make it.

Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

There's this show on TV called "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" where they are given questions from the 1st to 5th grade and for every question that they get right, they get money and if they answer all the questions then they will get a million dollars but if they don't then they have to look at the camera and say "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" and there's this question about 4th grade spelling or something and then the lady contestant couldn't answer it and then she said "who invented spellcheck?" and then I realised that like when I type the wrong spelling of the word and I use the spellcheck application, I actually don't learn the right spelling of the word and the next time I want to use the word, I still use the wrong spelling and use the spellcheck application again.

So, maybe technology isn't all that good. Especially in the spelling area.

Not-so Beautiful Letdown

People of the world now depend a lot on technology and the convenience that it brings to us but just recently, I have been faced with mucho problems when it came to technology and that is very frustrating I feel especially since we expect machines and technology not to be consistently inconsistent.

So, I watch The Office a lot right and I watch it online because on TV, they're a whole season slower. And like a 20 minute episode would usually take about an hour to load. And that is actually okay because I load like 3 episodes at once and then while I do my own work, it can load by its own business. And that is fine with me. But recently, one episode is taking more than 4 hours to load and I have been very sad and angry about it.

And it rained a couple of days ago and I really wanted to watch TV but then it didnt work because of the rain and there wasn't any signal or something like that and I was so so upset about it.

And just yesterday, my ipod froze and it wasn't the first time it happened so I was very upset about it and I really wondered if like it would spoil or die or something like that.

So, I just guess that maybe we have been so dependent on technology and I think it really does hit us hard when they let us down. Like imagine if every technological item did not work. Like the computer or the cars or the ipods or the tvs of the world decided to die. What would we do? What would I do? I'm more worried about that question.

Wake The Sun

so anyways, i've been thinking quite a bit about our new project of making a music video and my group is Catherine and Ivone. and I'm really excited about making this music video but I really want to make sure that the song that we use is not a cheesy and not nice song. And I think that might be actually quite hard because I am so passionate about the music that I listen to so I am very opinionated on the subject and I really want to choose such a great song for the music video. and then I really do hope that WE are able to come to a compromise to choose a wonderful song. beacuse Ivone wants to use Cassie and i think i rather eat disgusting black pepper than actually make a music video on a cassie song. ugh. (I do hate black pepper or white pepper or any kind of pepper a lot, actually. and cassie's music also.)

so i'm thinking of what songs that i actually want to make a music video of and there's just so many to think of because i really want to choose like Brit Rock because that is always good and awesome and I was thinking of maybe choosing "She Moves in Her Own Way" by The Kooks of "Flathead" by The Fratellis or "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John.

but then i really want to play really good rock songs like "Believe" by The Bravery or The Shore or The Strokes.

but then i also want to play really good alternative bands like motion city soundtrack or we the kings or over it or the fold (i love the fold so much) so many more.

but then i really want to play songs from really good indie singers like jason collett or jason reeves.

but then i want to play such good classic rock like acdc or the beatles or the ramones.

and then part of me also want to play like really good sad rock songs like breathe me by sia or near to you by a fine frenzy or imogen heap or something

OHMYGOODNES!. how am i ever going to choose? i think i shall start now.

oh yes, just so you know. the title of my podcast is the name of the matches newest single off their newest album "a band in hope" and if you are going to listen to it, i think you should wear socks because they will get blown away. yappers. i'm not even kidding. i love that song mucho.

Goodbye, unawsomeness. FINALLY!

Kristy is gone finally! her and all of her unawesomeness has left the show. thank goodness.

so, i really like to watch American idol and i watch it every week and i really have my opinions and my favourites and everything. and you know, being not American and not being able to vote for my favourites but only being capable of watching what Americans think of the contestants and then hopefully get rid of the people who actually deserve to go. because, Danny went off so early and i loved him so and he was just so much better than other people who got to stay longer than him so that wasn't fair in any way.

and just last week, Michael johns went home. MICHAEL JOHNS!!!! he is so AWESOME!! and i can't believe that Kristy stayed and he went home and i just didn't understand it at all and it was probably the saddest day of American idol, after the exiting of lovely homeless Josiah. i mean like Kristy has been in the bottom two so many times and I honestly can't believe that she stayed longer than Michael Johns. that was crazy. and he was so talented, and he was such a rock star and she was just the most boringest person in the world and she held her mike so retardedly when she sang. and i still don't understand how i can pass through another Wednesday without Michael johns singing beautiful music to me. so i was very pissed with the American people who did not vote for the right people.

but, i mean the whole system of voting for your favourites is pretty cool, i guess. if you're American because there's such a connection between the contestants of the show and you as an audience because you get to pick your favourites and then actually have a say on their fate in the competition. so, you know, such technology actually develops such relationship which would not have prevailed should the system did not exist.

but, come on America! Michael Johns? what's wrong with your muddled heads?

i think that is my cue to cry.

also, that is a video of Michael Johns' PHENOMENAL performance of Dolly Parton's classic, it's all wrong but it's alright. i do believe there were about 50 billion mimsy faces on the day he got eliminated, mine included.

My Adventures in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is one of my ultimate favourite books of all time. i just love the way lewis carroll plays with all the words and the book is just filled with so much nonsense and i really do love it so. everytime i read the book, i laugh so much. for seriously.

so i went online and then i found this alice in the wonderland podcast by storynory and then i got it. and then i put them in my ipod then i off the lights in my room and lay down in my bed and listened to four chapters of alice in the wonderland. and it was pretty cool but, being such an avid reader, i really feel that reading is much nicer. i know like book podcasts are becoming really popular now but i really do not enjoy listening to it as much as actually reading a book. and especially in alice in the wonderland when the book is filled with lots of words which sounds the same but are spelled differently and then lewis carroll plays a lot with those kinds of words and you don't really get the joke when the lady is reading it to you on the podcast.

but, you know, maybe book podcasts will be more convenient to other people like for the people who don't have the time to read or the illiterate people or who don't enjoy reading much. but, i really don't like it too much. yeah. it spoils the fun of reading, i think.

Camera video?

So in comtech we now have to make a 15 seconds video which illustrates what we think about the images of this particular song "in the dark" and i used to have a proper video camera like those gadgets which are made to actually take videos but then my silly sister spoiled it. and now all i have is a camera. and i was like thinking that i have to take videos with a camera and it wouldn't turn out very good but then i remembered that before kevjumba got himself a macbok for his christmas present, he used a digital camera to record his videos. and since the firsts few videos of his were, in my opinion, the funniest, i think that using a camera to record videos wouldn't be too bad anyways and if it was good enough to make kevjumba more famous than a normal person, i do believe that it would be good enough for me.

Laptop me

My sister just got a new laptop and it's a toshiba and that's just not fair because i didnt get one and i only have like a computer in my room but you can't really bring you computer around and there's not a lot of space in my computer or its just that i really have a lot of stuff. but its okay. it has served me well but i really do want a laptop and when i asked my mum she wasn't too thrilled about it but i think it's a big maybe.

so i've been doing my research but there's just so many laptop brands that i honestly have no idea which one to choose from but i really don't want to have like a really expensive one like as long as its a nice looking laptop, that will be fine. like really seriously.

and i asked my dad about it and he gave me such a long explananation about the weight and the screen size of laptops and much other information that i really do not find interesting or relevant at all.

i don't mind even jsut getting the same laptop as my sister did because it's nice. i'll just make it my own like draw on it or smthing. just as long as its a reasonable laptop. i shall be happy. yeth.

Youtubers, take notice

a lot of people i know go to youtube and that's cool because youtube has many awesometastic things which are available for less awesometastic people to watch but it just seems like that everytime someone talks about youtbe and then i ask if they know like kevjumba or smosh or happyslip or lisanova and stuff and they're just like "no" and i really wanna just smack their nose or something like that because those people honestly are the funniest people over there and i always wonder just what they do when they actually go to youtube and stuff because whatever it is that they do, it is not as awesome as the kevjumbas and the smoshes.

such nonsensical things that are happening. tsk tsk.

oh right, i would just like to say that i am in class now and jowee is playing mae and the red jumpsuit apparatus so i would like to send a hi-five. yappers. thank you for filling my ears with beautiful sounds.

Wife takes divorce drama online

I read online on how this former actress and playright lady, who was married to a rich man who responsible for some broadway organisation, released this video on youtube to humiliate her other side. In her video, she rants about the bad and evil members of her in-laws and embarrasing moments of their intimate and private life with the goal to humiliate the other party.

her video has about 150,000 hits by far and its just kinda sad really. and embarrasing also. but maybe she's just grieving over the end of hermarriage.

but i would just like her to know that grief isint always wrong. there's such things as good grief. just as charlie brown.

Guitar Hero

I have a guitar at home and i'm okay on it. like i don't take classes so i try to learn myself and go online and like find tabs which i do not know how to read per se and learn how to play them myself. and i get along with it pretty well because its fine and all but i really wanna play guitar hero because i reallyfeel that if i play guitar hero, my guitar un-heroness skill will improve and then i can play the real guitar really well and i really do want to improve. but i checked online and it cost about RM 300 for the programme and that might be spent on nicer clothes.

so that is the end of my guitar hero dreams.

Go Dark

quite some time ago, i put up a post on saving electricity through search engines and i reccommended people to use Blackle but then someone replied and asked me to use Darkoogle which was better because it had cached pages and blackle didnt but then Darkoogle became unavailable so now i use GoDark and it stands for Google Dark, which is actually quite cool. it's like go green but go dark. there's images and everything. and it's much better than both blackle and darkoogle. yessum.

so, here's the link

THIRTY has been reached

YESH! this is my last blog. so i'm thinking that i should actually make an effort and i went to the guardian.com and then i'm looking and thinking of what boring things shall i write about right then i saw this title" Indie band releases album directly the the public" and then i read it and it's bout how the raconteurs (whom i love) are going to release their album in every available format without going through any advertising or interviewing or promotion for their album at all and it's suppose to be breakthrough in the merchandising of music in the music industry and stuff. so u can click here if you wanna check it out. yeap.

and like steady as she goes is probably one of the funniest videos i've ever watched and the song is really good also. very catchy.

More Music

i just realised that whenever i start to do many blogs at once, i talk more about things that affect me personally instead of going online and finding boring technology news. cuz that takes too much time.

so now, MORE MUSIC. always good news in my head. usually on itunes, my playlist is on alphabetical order right but then i always never follow that and just listen to the songs that i really am into at that moment. but recently, i put it on shuffle and it played the Beatles "a day in the life" and then it relived my love in oldies rock and stuff. and then on American idol, this week's theme was the Beatles and that was just too big of a coincidence to ignore. so I'm just so into ACDC, the Beatles and Led Zeppelin and stuiff and i realised that like eventhough the music is still wonderful, the quality of the sound is so different to the quality of the sound of the songs that are produced in the 21st century and its actually really clear how the recording equipment has advanced and how it affects the final product and the quality of the song.

so that's great for technology i guess. and even better for my ears. yesh.

how fast can you go?

i spend a lot of time on the computer right and like i type a lot and stuff like that and recently, about a million ppl told me that i type really fast. okay3 people. but that's still a lot right. and then i remembered on the office how Jim and Pam talked about typing and stuff like that. so i went online and took a typing speed test and my gross speed was 100 words per minute. and that's about 45 times faster than lightning, if you count properly. haha. no seriously. i used the calculator and it informed me that i take 1.6 seconds to type one word. which is probably faster than some people i guess. so, i think i'm pretty fast. oh right, i can type without looking at the keyboard. that prob earns me about 65 thousand points so my speed just increased to 5980 words per minute.

see if you are faster than me here.

Around the World

I came from an international school so like i have lots of friends who are like overseas right cuz most of the people who go to international schools are either people whose parents who get transfered a lot like by their company so they move around a lot right and also people who are mixed blood. so i have friends from like different parts of the world right and like it's really hard to like keep in contact with those people if not for the internet right. cuz like imagine there wasno myspace ofr facebook or stuff like that, the only way i could keep in contact if i were to text or call them and that would cost too much money and also, it seems like you're making such an effort just to call them and stuff like that but if you're on facebook with them it's like really casual and stuff and you can check out their pics and stuff, so. the internet helps. a lot. yappers.

Sports mania

i am such a sports fan. like i really am into football and formula one especially. and like, it's my dream really to go to Anfield and watch a home game right. (Liverpool's my team) and like i just realised that it would actually be hard to organise a trip to anfield and get tickets and stuff like that but like because of technology and that beautiful box, i call the TV i actually don't have to. like i can still watch it at home right. and like imagine if there was no like satellites and stuff like how am i suppose to live my life without watching liverpool play or watching kimi race and stuff. like, what kind of life would that be.

And like out of all the channels on TV, the sports channels are the only channels that are up to date cuz like on astro,, i feel like it is such a tea bag like they keep repeating all the shows and stuff and we are always like a season or two or 500 behind so that is not good at all right. but like the sports channel are the only channels that are showing current things. and that is very good. yes.

iPod speakers

I'm really thinking of getting iPod speakers for my iPod because I'm starting to be more environmental and i wanna save like electricity. cuz like now i use my computer to listen to my music when i am in my room but I'm thinking that if i get speakers then i wouldn't have to on my computer and then i could save lots of energy so that would be great. and i can actually like bring like my music downstairs. like if i wanna do something downstairs and actually on the music for everyone to hear, like not only through the ear phones, like a speaker would be very useful. so i went to mac to check out the ipod speakers and the cheapest was about RM 500-600 and that's too much. really. but i really wanna get it. so. I'm like online a lot now, looking for ipod speakers. and i think there should be like more which are not like apple. like speakers that would work but are not apple speakers so they wouldn't be too expensive. yes. i would like that v.much.

So over it.

the fashion newsletter is done! we had much problems with the writing and the pictures and the printing even and i was so stressed and all and i am so glad that we're done and i'm actually really satisfied with the end result. our front page is b-e-autiful and i reallythink that we made a good fashion newsletter. i jsut hope that maybe this might prepare me for the future where i might be the fashion editor of a real fashion magazine. such a dream. but i am so so glad that i did the project and learned all that i did. i think that the stuff that i wrote also, i feel like it's good. exp the battle of the brands. and the title is just so asstounding like. i really wanted a really nice title and then i was listneing to my music right then i thought bout the battle of the bands then i thought, erm, why don't i just add a "r" and make it the battle of the brands. and i did. and that was one of the smartest things i've done in my life. yes. fer seriously.

6 more blogs to go. yes. i will do it now. with a smile.

Newsletter update

in class now. i think almost everyone right now is writing another of the opinion piece to get us ready for the OSSLT test bt i got a perfect score on the previous one, so I'm exempted from doing another one today. i' prob should do another to get ready for the real test bt i just couldn't be effing bothered. so i shall not.

i'm grammar checking catherine and ivone's articles and i'm adding more stuff to it. and hopefully we can do everything by wednesday cuz we need to finish it by thursday. i have a lot to do still. we hvn't started on the layout at all even so, we might have too much on our hands. yes.

i'm going to start now. so. toodles.

OSSLT

for the past 2 days of comtech, we have been doing OSSLT papers to get us ready for the mock test tomorrow and also the real test which is coming soon. and i got a 40 and 50 for the paper that we did yesterday and that's okay. cuz the highest possible mark is 40 and 60. so, i'm thinking hat's not too bad. but i felt i totally screwed it up cuz for an opinion piece, we were only supposed to give one side of the argument but i guess, i'm just too practiced in history (haha) that i gave both sides of the argument. so i thought that was no good. but then my mark was quite good. so no worries. yes.

Update on newsletter

o, i hv to do this fashion newsletter right and i'm just so excited cuz i get to think that i am almost like anna wintour. but i don't read vogue too much. so i get to be almost natasha kraal. and she's awesome. like all the captions and just all the catchphrases in harper's bazaar is just so good. and i love it and stuff.

so i wrote a review on Topshop and i used beautiful words and i thought it was quite good. then i read harper's bazaar and then it wasn't that good anymore. but i feel i might be on my way to be just as good as natasha kraal, maybe. so this is what i wrote about topshop. it's not done though. just a draft. it sounds kinda plain, i feel.

One of UK’s most respected brands; Topshop offers a variety of kinky, fun, casual and always stylish array of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, socks and panties. Topshop has a mini clothing line with the controversial but ultra-fab supermodel; Kate Moss. The result of this collaboration is an edgy, yet chic but slightly over-priced clothing line. Also, being proudly from the UK, all Topshop outlets play lovely indie Brit rock, which guarantees customers a quirky and upbeat atmosphere when shopping at Topshop. Topshop has outlets in KLCC, Pavilion, MidValley, Sunway Pyramid, and One Utama.

and i started taking pictures. and i didnt dare to go in and take pictures of the clothes so i've got the outsides of topshop, miss selfridge, dorothy perkins and others. and for the clothes, i tried to take pictures of my own clothes. but they didnt turn out the way i wanted it to turn out at all cuz like when i hang the clothes up, you can see the hangers and then when you put the clothes down, then it looks really fat, the clothes that is. so i'm so sad about it. and i really wanna look for interesting backgrounds for my clothes but every background i see is just so boring. and it really frustrates me cuz i really wanna make a beautiful fashion newsletter with fitting pictures inside.

Class time

For our new comtech project,we have to make a newsletter and my groupmates are Catherine and Ivone and we chose to do a fashion newsletter.

i'm have to write 3 articles. one of them is going to be a reveiw on some different brands of clothes. and the other one is going to be on different type of shoes and one more is just about the fahsion world in general.

and i have to get lots of pictures bt i'm not sure if the sales persons in the shops are going to let me take pictures of the clothes so i'm pretty worried about that. bt if not, i will just get a picture of the outside of the shops and stuff like that and hopefullypeople won't stare at me so. and maybe i will try to get pictures of my own clothes. i just hope it comes out well.

Software to wipe stolen or lost laptops and collar theives

A British company has made a new software that may wipe out the stealing of laptops. this programme will become activated once it is out of a designated a specific area. Once connected to the internet, this programme will make the laptop take pictures of it's location and then send them back to a headquarters and thus making tracking the stolen laptop easily.
The laptop can even silently delete sensitive files once it's stolen.

lovely podcasts

i'm really into my music and i really do love it and i listen to it everyday and stuff but since the music i listen to is not mainstream, like to be updated with new singles and albums and stuff, i get my information on the net. and i subscribe to indiefeed.com and that's a podcast. and i got it on itunes. and they just give me like such lovely music but like the songs that they give me are just SO underground like i have never heard of them before and i'm sure no one else in the world knows them but they are all signed and they're all SO good and i think like podcasts are still relatively new and not a lot of people like subscribe to podcasts but they are wonderful and amazing esp the ones that give you good alternative indie rock. yesh.

oh right, and i would probably die if someone asked me to host a podcastt. like that would be such a dream. yes. a music podcast, that is.

Learning Skills Report

For my Learning Skills Report, i got a B for Com Tech and i'm not too glad about that because i got an A for both of my other subjects and that B doesn't look very nice among the A's so i need to kick that B out. and an A needs to take it's place. i think maybe like i need to make sure that i do my work better and make sure that the quality of the work is wonderful so i will get an A. and ,maybe i should be more organize and update my blog more regularly and other stuff like that. and work well with others to improve my teamwork. and all of that. and pay more attention in class. and just concentrate on doing a better job. yes.

Can you do the boxman dance?

Smosh; the internet superstars on youtube have released a string of music videos about boxman. it's a man with a box for his head. and recently, he found a girlfriend. and like smosh sings and they write the lyrics to the music videos and stuff and they had this dance. where all their characters from the smosh videos danced the same dance. and now , they're having like a competition. like they would teach you how to dance the boxman dance then u hv to like record yourself dancing and like if you're good, you get a chance to win the original boxman box which smosh uses in all the videos. not a big prize but they have like so many entries already. and i love the boxman. he's so funny.

JOSIAH, how sad can this get?

u know, i watch american idol right and like i saw josiah at the atlanta auditions and he was just SO amazing. he really was. like he sang his own song. like he wrote it. and he sang it like with a british accent right and he's american and stuff so that's confusing. bt like before the auditions, he explained like bout his life and stuff and like he said that he left school when he was like 16 or smthin and he lives in his car. like he tours around the country, playing at clubs and stuff like that and at first like, he was really cool about it like he was like showing the cameras his car and like how he likes lots of pillows and stuff like that but like after a while, he became real emotional cuz like it's like so hard, i think for him, especially since he's so young. cuz like, he lives in a car. like alone. and he says like it's lonely and stuff. and like u just feel so bad for him. and like u can see that he's like SUCH a nice and honest person. like so true. no fake hollywood nonsense about him.

and like during the auditions, he sang an original song and it was just so beautiful like it really was. like his song was just SO alternative, indie rock. an his voice really was just so great right and then after that, they made him sing chasing cars and he sang it so so well. and like i really feel like the music industry is just being so corrupted nowadays. like i really feel, that like it depends mostly on your looks now, to be successful. and that's why i'm like so into the whole underground alternative, indie music scene where you're recognised for your talents, instead of your looks like i really feel that most people on the radio nowadays are more like singers instead of artists. cuz like they just sing songs that people write for them and stuff but like people like josiah and all alternative bands, they all write their own music and play their own music and sing and really work hard for success. and like josiah made it to hollywood week and he sang grace kelly by mika and he arranged it and it really was like the best performance out of everyone. like fer seriously.

and like when he got eliminated, like he cried so much. and like it touched my heart so and i really wanted to cry. really. it was probably the saddest thing ever. i'm not kidding.

so, like i thought bout him a lot and like him living in his car right, and i just like tried to put myself in his position. like being alone. no family or friends with you. it's just you, your car and a different club every week and stuff and like i just feel, that it wouldnt be TOO bad to live in your car. it's just the technology part that i would missed. like most of the time, at home. i'm on the net a lot, right. so like if i were to have like my laptop, in my car. that's not too bad. cuz like i'm trying to think of josiah's car as like my room. and i spend a lot of time in my room. it's just like if you live in a car, you prob wouldn't satisfactory hygiene services but like, if you live in a car, there would be no electricity right, so there would be no place to charge your ipod or you laptop and stuff. so it makes me realise like how much we depend on technology as like a source of entertainment now and like it makes me real grateful for what i have.

this is Josiah's audition where he sang the grace kelly song. it was just so beautiful. i love him so.

cuppacakes

i love cupcakes. they are really the most beautiful things there are in the world. and cuppacakes makes the best cupcakes in the world. they decorate them so nicely and they're so wonderful. bt something bout interesting bout cuppacakes is that you hv to order them online. like they have a blog and like an email then they make it and then somehow it will appear in your hands. i have yet to figure out how an online order becomes beautiful cuppacakes bt i hv never tried to solve the mystery cuz cuppacakes cost quite a lot and i always think that u should nvr pay too much put on weight. and cuppacakes are filled with much fat, no? so, another thing that the internet helps in; cuppacakes delivery.

this is their blog page and there's a million beautiful pictures of cuppacakes there. i go there everytime i feel sad. it makes me smile. cuz i know that there are much beautiful things out there in this world. im' so hungry now. i shall go and get a carrot.

a waste of time, you say?

i know that a lot of people think that facebook and myspace and friendster and stuff like that are a waste of time. and like i think ti's just such a subjective topic to talk about and to give a justified opinion about. bt like some people say that they're addicted to facebook and all, bt it's just that like, to like update ur profile and stuff on facebook, it takes so much time, like u hv to add applications and reply on ur friends walls and all that other nonsensical stuff. but like i think one very good thing about social networking sites is the "group" part like if you're interested in something that none of your friends is, like you're' definetly not alone. especially like on facebook where they have like groups and then you can join the groups and then u can like talk to the people who actually are interested in it. like, if you really like to cook. and none of your friends do. you can go on facebook and join a cooking group and then u can like exchange recipes on forums and stuff like that. sounds lame? yes, it is. cuz it's a stupid example bt i'm really into like alternative music and like i can go to like groups on facebook and we tlak about wonderful music and bands and shows and tours and exchange wonderful music and that's pretty cool. u-huh.

Microsoft, Yahoo and Google

i'm not really sure what to say about the happenings between Yahoo, microsoft and google cuz i don't think too much about those stuff. but i do feel like competition is healthy so there's no monopoly or smthing like that. so progress and development isint stagnant right, so like maybe if microsoft and yahoo together becomes a better company, google will have to improve to make sure that their status as number.1 is not threatened and that would mean like better services for the people. and that would include me. so as long as no one is monopolizing the business and as long as there are choices i'm fine with whatever nonsense microsoft and yahoo are planning to do. yeah.

and like in terms of which brand's services i prefer, it varies on what programme i use like i use msn messenger and hotmail but i use like blackle and darkoogle which is a subtask of google for my search engine. and i actually never use yahoo at all. i think it's because like everytime u wanna go to yahoo, like u kinda have to be happy cuz their name is like yahoo!and it's bright yellow and stuff and i am not happy all the time and i do not feel like yahoo-ing! all the time so, no yahoo for me thank you very much. and also, i watch rich kids and terry semel's daughter courtney was there and syhe's so annoying and like she likes alex, who thinks that brittny is pretty and brittny gastineau is really just so pretty and so i really do not like courtney at all, and therefore i do not like yahoo!. justified enough? i hope so.

so like, i just feel like microsoft and yahoo and google can do whatever they want, bt i'm sure, somehow we will benefit from whatever they have planned . so no worries. it's just that microsoft is paying 45 billion dollars for yahoo. and i would just like them to know that i too would like 45 billion dollars thank you very much. should they offer me 45 billion dollars, no worries microsoft, your offer won't be turned down. i shall be waiting patiently for your offer. till then, toodles.

where's the funny? give it to me

the writer's strike ended two days ago, in hollywood and i am SO relieved. i haven't been watching any new episodes of the office recently cuz of the strike and my life has been void of laughter. seriously.
bt like, eventhough the strike went on for so long, like malaysia isint really affected cuz we don't even get like any current episodes. all the shows that they play on tv are like past seasons and we are never up-to-date and i really do not like that at all. bt like i go to sidereel.com and i watch the office all the time and like the episodes get posted bout like 2 weeks kinda after it's gets released in the states, so that's not too bad right. cuz it's free and all. and it really frustrates me that like the tv stations in malaysia are such teabags cuz they keep playing over and over the same old seasons of shows like this is like the sixth time they've played the oc, season one. and they've nvr even played season two ever. and like the only channel that is up to date is the sports channel. fer siously. so like i hv to watch most of the shows online, and it takes kinda long to load bt i hv no choice cuz my comp doesnt hv enough space to hold like all 500 seasons of the office, 30 rock, ugly betty and grey's anatomy.

so this blogpost is to recognise the amazingness of the office and how i miss it so much and how i am so glad that the internet is there for me to watch the office and fill my life with laughter.

i got this vid frm youtube, and it's a complilation of clips bout jim and dwight's relationship in the office and the second scene in the video is just the funniest scene in the whole show. it's so amazing.

Beautiful music

you know like i'm really passionate about the music i listen to. like i get that for some people, they just listen to music on the radio and stuff like that and it's just like whatever, but really, like my ipod is really like my best friend and i really make music such an important part of my entertainment and my life even. and i feel that i listen to really good music like i really do not like hip hop, r&b, pop or all that nonsensical mainstream nonsense. like i listen to really good alternative, indie, modern, classic rock. and i really feel that these are the people in the music industry that are the real deal cuz they write their own music and they play their own music and they all start like from the bottom, like playing in clubs and stuff like that, and they're all so talented. it's not like, if you're pretty, you'll be famous kinda thing.
and because the music i listen to is not mainstream, i can never hear it like on the radio or on the television or something. so like the only way i get to download songs or like check out the bands that i listen to is through the internet. and like i just can't imagine not having the internet like i feel like with the tv and radio, like u don't get to choose to much. ti's not personal. but with the internet, u can do what you want to do. and i get to listen to such wonderful music. i think, if not for the internet, i would be such a boring person with such a boring life. fer seriously.

SWITCHFOOT!

when switchfoot came to malaysia, i went. and that was like a couple weeks ago and i hvn't listened to anything but switchfoot since then. seriously. but while i was waiting for the meet and greet, there were people selling switchfoot cd's and stuff like that but i didnt get any cuz i already got them before but there were people who were selling cd's bt it wasn't like a normal cd. it was just a cover and like if you get that cd, u will hv to go online to redeem it. like u will download your songs online. and it's like legal. so it's kinda like a new generation cd. so i thought that was pretty interesting and worth mentioning.

and switchfoot was so amazing.

one of a kind?

brands are somehow overrated and almost always definitely overpriced. and apple is an example. i used to hv a creative and it cost like less than one quarter of the price of my ipod bt i hv a question bout it. is the ipod the only mp3 player out in the market where you actually can scroll through songs. like let's say, i hv ten songs in my creative. the 1st is AC/DC(cuz it's an A) and the last is like The Zutons or smthing. so like if i'm hearing AC/DC and i wanna hear the zutons next, i will hv to click the next button 9 times and i'll hv to hear like the 1st second of the other 8 songs on my ,mp3. bt on my ipod, i jst hv to scroll with the round thing and i don't hv to go through the other 8 songs. and i think that is the only reason why my ipod is better my creative. bt i don't know even one mp3 player out there, other than the ipod, that makes song-jumping smooth. is there?

too fast maybe?

recently on david letterman, barack obama gave his top ten campaign promises. and it's like a funny top ten kinda list and there's jst so much nonsensical stuff in it(you know he said like to keep the budget balanced, he will rent out the situation room to sweet sixteens) bt one of them was "i won't let apple release the new and improved ipod the day after you bought the previous model" and at that moment, i just fell off the chair. yes.

i got an ipod nano 2nd generation(it is pink and beautiful and filled with delicious music, no r&b or rap or that nonsense) in october/september kinda and jst a week later, they released the ipod nano 3rd generation and it made me so angry cuz like i got it frm the states, so i didnt even received my ipod yet, when they released the new one. so my ipod wwas already out of fashion even before i got it. how sad.

apple is going too fast. maybe someone should tell steve jobs to slow down. tell him that if he goes too fast, he might get into an accident. i'm so serious, i'm not even kidding.

this is the barack ombama video on david letterman. watch it and please laugh.

Falling For You

for this particular blog post, i choose to write about an American internet rockstar who makes beautiful music; Ronnie Guglielmone, or more commonly known as his stage name; Ronnie Day. Being a logical man, Ronnie realised that most people wouldn't be able to pronounce his Italian last name and left the matter to his MySpace fans who chose the name Day as his stage name.
After graduating school at 16, he recorded self-written songs in his room and released them onto the internet(he plays many instruments). "Falling for you" made it's way into being featured onto MTV's Real World:Denver and The Hills before mtvU decided to do a feature called the Ronnie Day project. on him as one of the internet's rising stars.

Ever and after is a beautiful song. check him out.

i've been smoshed

i guess the internet is pretty much a platform that ordinary folks can make a name for themselves through out the world, without any geographic boundaries. this results in the birth of internet celebrities; namely bloggers, youtubers or indie musicians spreading their work through the internet. one of the biggest internet celebrities is Smosh.
Smosh is a duo of college boys from the small town of carmichael, California who started making videos back in and met with instant success when when they released a video clip of them singing to the theme song of pokemon on youtube. they shot to stardom overnight receiving a million hits in a week. (other people also did covers on their pokemon video in crazy languages like hebrew and chinese even) their pokemon video was followed up by a few more music videos before they released, what i think is their best video over; Food Battle 2006, which was followed by dozens of crazily funny videos. They direct, write, shoot and act out their own videos and their appealing and exaggerated sense of humour landed them a recordin deal with video streamin company With collaborations with other youtube celebrities like LisaNova, TheHill88, TheWineKone, DaxFlame, and Perez Hilton, they have managed to widen their fan base. They also were the winners of the youtube awards a couple years back , beatin out the highly popular happyslip.
Currently, Smosh has released videos and hold the top spot on youtube's most suscribed list. their smosh empire have expanded to smosh t-shirts and hoodies (which they wear all the time in their videos) and x-mas cards sales even. They ship their merchandise all over the world. the list of countries include singapore bt not malaysia(ridiculous nonsense). they've also appeared on TRL, the local newstation, chattin with charlie, the Times magazine and much more.

i love smosh.

Video reflection

Well, i thought that the videos, the first especially, were all thought out really carefully and it was pretty understanding because it seems like it took the point of view of the kids more, instead of like the teachers. So maybe that professor who made the video is real understanding about his students and their problems. And it seems like the professor gets that it is hard just to sit in a room full of people and try to learn something that a single person is saying at the front of the room and he has good intentions in making this video to encourage classes to be more interactive and interesting maybe. But maybe the kids too have to understand that there is such things as responsibilities and they should be trying to pay attention to their teacher at least instead of going on facebook and all that nonsense and they shouldn't skip lectures and stuff because like college costs a lot so why should they just waste their money and they should actually realise that they are getting the opportunity to learn and potentially become a lot smarter than they are and not everyone in the world gets to go to school even, especially in the context of tertiary education. like I wouldn't facebook while a lecture is going on. i know better.

But in the second video where it showed the kids wanting to get the opportunity to apply and analyze and all that nonsense, like I really do think that their teachers should, in some way, incorporate technology in their teaching because like the technology is there so the teachers should use it especially since the students are so into it like who frigging listens to a harry potter podcast? and since technology has proven to make life easier and more convenient for us, I think like the teachers should explore technology and make learning more fun and hands on.

a taser that plays music?

an iTaser. u-huh. whistling when you are scared is just too old now. why not listen to your favourite songs while being able to potentially shock someone with a 50,000 electric charge?
personal protection can now be fashionable and functionable. that is too cool.
